Here at Leading Edge Industrial, our clients are not simply a number to us. We want to partner with educators around the nation and personally teach them how to use our CNC machines for their unique programs. With likely 3.5 million manufacturers being needed in the next decade, education is becoming a higher and higher priority in manufacturing. Because of this, we’ve created two different hands-on, informational training workshops to help educators better understand how to use their CNC machines to their full potential.
Introduction to Fusion 360 CAD & CAM (minimum of 4 students per class)
Cost: $750 per student
Duration: 2 Days
The Introduction to Fusion class focuses on the basics of using Autodesk Fusion 360 in a machine shop/classroom environment—CAD and CAM included. No prior experience is required to take this class.
Throughout the two-day course, we will cover a wide variety of services and helpful resources, including modeling, sketching, setups & work coordinate systems, and creating tools in the tool library. During day one (CAD), our session will specifically focus on modeling, sketching, constraints, bodies & components, sketching tips & tricks, and technical drawing basics. Participants will take part in modeling a mechanical pen and pencil set with a wooden holder. This session is meant to help teachers with an emphasis on conceptual skills – learning how to design and produce a product from start to finish.
Day two will be devoted to doing CAM for the parts drawn and designed during the first day of the program. We will focus on setups & work coordinate systems, creating tools in the tool library, facing, pocketing, and contouring CAM operations, and 3D machining the outer profile of the Holder. There will also be a question and answer period at the end of the program.
Hands-on CNC Machining Class (minimum of 4 students per class)
Cost: $1,050 per student
Duration: 3 Days
Our Hands-on CNC Machining Class is focused on the operation and use of CAD, CAM, and CNC milling machines. Participants in the program will be able to use Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD & CAM and HX Series CNC Machines.
The first two days of this program will focus on both Fusion 360 CAD & Drawings and Fusion 360 CAM & Tool Creation. The second day will utilize CAD parts drawn on day one. Day three will cover the operation and use of HX series CNC VMC machines.
We recommend each participant bring the following tools: dial calipers, dial micrometers, scale (metal ruler), wobbler edge finder, deburring tools, and measuring tools. These tools can be purchased from Leading Edge Industrial.
Our classes are filling up quickly. Call (1-888-202-9398 ext 1) or email (info@leadingedgeindustrial.com) our team to schedule times and dates to participate in either one of our two workshops. We can’t wait to work with you!
